Gabrielle’s love for baking presented itself at an early age. While her mother was preparing to retire from the U.S. Navy, Gabrielle was enrolled into a new school. Upon her entrance, the bullying immediately began by her fellow classmates. The stress of being bullied began to take effect on her self-esteem and confidence. As a way to deal with her feelings, she took to the kitchen and conjured up various homemade desserts, which led to her finding comfort. After meeting Gabrielle Jordan, (entrepreneur, motivational speaker and author of “The Making of a Young Entrepreneur), she found encouragement in the older Gabrielle’s words to “dream big” and “step out on faith.” It was at that moment, with the blessing from her mom, Gabrielle took a leap of faith and founded Glorious Pastries by Gabrielle at the age of 9.
Gabrielle’s success has gained her local, national and international recognition. She has been featured on/in the Washington Post, Washington Informer, Good Morning America, ABC’s The Chew, Fox5 Good Day DC, the Pulse Business Show, CTV News (Prince George County), Voices of America, and Woman’s World Magazine. Notable personnel that Gabrielle has had the opportunity to meet includes Steve Harvey, Brandi & Karli Harvey, 2019 Oscar Award-winner Ruth E. Carter, recording artist Chloe x Halle, award-winning gospel recording artists Kirk Franklin, Ty Tribbett, Jonathan McReynolds, Yolanda Adams, The Walls Groups and so many more. Her most cherished moments were baking for 1975 Tony Award winning Choreographer George Faison and Emmy Award winning make-up artist Reggie Wells, former make-up artist for Oprah Winfrey. Gabrielle currently attends Frederick Douglass High School Upper Marlboro, Maryland, enrolled in the Pathways in Technology Early College High School program, where she’ll pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality Services Management along with completing the requirements for a high school diploma. She was awarded the iChange Nations “Youth Add Value” award from United Nations Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers, for her global campaign to bring an end to bullying and mission to educate underprivileged youth into becoming entrepreneurs. Most recently, she was selected as 1 of 100 high school students (nationwide) to be a part of the Class 2019 Steve Harvey & Essence Magazine Disney Dreamers Academy. In addition, she’s a co-author of the published book The Science Behind It: Formulating Success at Any Age, a first of its kind book that brings 26 young moguls together from around the world to share tips on how they broke the status quo of entrepreneurship and are CEOs of successful businesses. |
